What Does It Mean When Your Wireless Charger Is Flashing Green
Most wireless chargers in the market have the same LED light colors and meanings. Solid green means your phone has been fully charged by the wireless charger. Some might use different colors in other countries.
If your Qi wireless charger is flashing green when your phone is on it, it indicates that there is a bad voltage, either higher voltage or lower voltage.
In this situation, some wireless chargers can continue to charge the phone, but this may cause overheating (due to high-voltage) or it would take much longer time to charge the phone (due to low-voltage). Some wireless charger won’t charge the phone when the LED light is blinking green.
If your wireless charger is flashing green and blue, it means the wireless charger is not charging your phone correctly and there is a bad voltage. See Why the Wireless Charger Is Flashing Blue.
If the wireless charger is blinking green and red LED lights, it means the wireless charger is not working. See Why the Wireless Charger Is Flashing Red.
Why Is Your Portable Wireless Charger Is Blinking Green
The reported wireless chargers with blinking green light issue include Samsung and Belkin. But other wireless chargers could also have this problem if you don’t charge correctly.
The #1 cause that makes the wireless charger blinking green while charging is a faulty cable or a wrong power adapter. If you use a faulty or low-voltage cable, or an improper AC power adapter for the wireless charger, there would be a bad voltage. Do not buy low quality cables or power adapters, such as the ones from the dollar stores.
Bad connections between the phone and the wireless charger could also cause the wireless charger flashing green. For example, when the phone is not centered correctly or when there is a case on your phone or other objects between the phone and the wireless charger, the charging coils may not line up correctly.
How to Solve the Wireless Charger Flashing Green Problem
Why the wireless charger is flashing green and not charging your phone is the key to solve the problem. Check the causes mentioned above. Or you can just try the solutions below when your wireless charger is blinking green.
Solution 1. Change the cable and the power adapter for the wireless charger
Get a correct AC power adapter for your wireless charger. We’ve covered all the information in our previous post: How to Choose a Correct Power Adapter for Your Wireless Charger.
Also buy a new cable or use the one that came with your phone.
Please make sure you’ve connected the wireless charger with the new cable and power adapter to a sufficient power supply.
Solution 2. Reposition the phone on the exact center of the wireless charger
To make the wireless charger and the phone aligned correctly, you need to put the phone onto the exact center of the wireless charger. Some wireless chargers may take you a bit to find the sweet spot.
Solution 3. Remove any case or phone holder magnet
If you used a phone case or a phone holder magnet on the back of the phone, remove it. Do not put any other object between the phone and the wireless charger during charging. This will help solve the wireless charger flashing green issue.
If you prefer a case and don’t want to take it off, make sure the wireless charger can charge through a case and the case supports wireless charging.
Solution 4. Reset the wireless charger and restart your phone
You can try to reset the wireless charger and restart the phone. This will help shut down any errors that come from the wireless charger and the phone. Then center the phone on the wireless charger to see if this could solve the wireless charger blinking green and not charging the phone.
Some users have reported a success with this method.
Solution 5. Get a new high quality wireless charger
If all the solutions above cannot solve your wireless charger flashing green and not charging your phone, you’ve probably got a faulty wireless charger. If it’s still under warranty, contact the seller and get a replacement. If not, buy a new one. We recommend Yootech, Anker, Samsung, CHOETECH and Seneo, which are the best ones to charge a phone, based on our test.
